On October 1st Women With Purpose gathered with Elizabeth from Answered Prayers Project at Shari's new place. We spent time sprucing up her yard, awaited her arrival with the moving truck and knew this was a new beginning. Helping her find a more suitable place to live and getting her settled after a long journey with cancer.
A journey that has a little miracle involved. At one time Shari was a patient with Hospice, but her life has a different path planned. She is now cancer free. Taking steps to rebuild her life and finding joy along the way. She is looking to start a part-time job and has also become a consultant with Thirty-One Designs.
With the help of family and friends she got a car, she drove for the first time yesterday after 6 years so that smile of hers holds joy for so many reasons. She hugged us tight and said thank you again and again. You could feel the strength of her spirit and her appreciation of living life. It truly is a gift that everyday she celebrates.
As we help women in our community from the support of our local partners and members in Pinellas it is together we are able to share days like this. Give where you live is our motto. We all are creating a greater sense of connectedness in this area helping to strengthen women and their families.

Women With Purpose
"I was thoroughly surprised at age 46, only 4 short months after a Mammogram, finding a large lump in my Breast. I had Triple Negative Breast Cancer, a very aggressive form, which grew rapidly. Not only did I lose both breasts, but my job, my savings, my car, my mobility, as I had a severe neurological reaction to one of the chemotherapies. I am so grateful however, as I am here, a Hospice graduate, and now, after graduating from wheelchair to walker, then using the walker for several years, and eventually building up my strength, walking round trip a good three miles up and back to the grocery store...I am now walker free!!!! I am thrilled! I still have my port in my chest, and I am looking at getting that removed next year, God willing! I am at a place where I can take those baby steps, and start working part time! I am thrilled! And I am praying I will be able to drive to and from in a reliable vehicle. I can take myself to my doctor appointments, and not have to burden others. I also have daughters, and granddaughters I can visit locally. I have always maintained a sense of humor throughout this journey, and managed to be joyful regardless, however..the lack of independence has been one of the hardest hurdles. I want to be able to pay it forward, and have always been in a helping field, but intend to utilize all of the life lessons I have learned throughout this journey.
