"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." -mm
Sometimes the stories don't have happy endings. There is loss from cancer. It becomes part of a journey that has connected our group of women. It infuses the why we do what we do. Why we give so willingly to help others. It is where we stand strong and provide support from within our circle until the grief heals.
As we begin to share the personal stories of our Women With Purpose it is to come to know the will we have infused within our group that drives us to encircle families battling cancer, it is about the care and concern as well as the giving.
Stacey Michelle serves as our Creative Director to Women With Purpose. Through the loss of two parents to cancer she shares her story and how serving the mission to help others became the way she would heal deep grief and live with purpose.

We are at it again, planning is well underway. Sponsors are signing up and tickets are selling! Our major fundraiser is approaching. We have the what, when, where and here is the "WHY"
The mission of Women With Purpose is to help patients with cancer by providing non-medical financial assistance. Cancer is that word that changes life. When someone is diagnosed with cancer the impact of the illness and treatment alone should be enough to contend with. It sometimes causes financial distress due to time away from work or having to give up a job. It effects a whole family. There are bills to pay, the ones that meet basic needs of living day to day. Rent or mortgage payments, utilities to car payments and insurance and food. That is where we step in and provide assistance. We have an application process for our patients, we directly pay bills and we provide food and gas cards.
A little word that is so powerful, "We"
Our members, our partners, a community and YOU! supporting these patients who are facing times of need and humbly reach out to us all.
Our organization is made up of volunteers. We operate from the dedication of time and resources from our members. Driven by our own journeys and a strong sense of compassion and understanding to help make a difference. 95% of monies raised goes back to our patients to meet those needs. We have amazing partners, they are individuals, local business owners and even other non-profit organizations. Our motto is "Give Where You Live" - we also believe in the power of supporting each other to not only make a difference for patients but also in our community by sharing these local businesses who give back. Isn't this what it is all about? By supporting Women With Purpose your donations help make an impact where you live. Most likely someone you know has had or is dealing with cancer or maybe you know it too. It is too common of a word and yet still without a cure. It seems the best way to make a difference is to help right here in our community.
It doesn't matter what you give, every dollar helps. From a direct donation online or if you are a business and can offer in-kind services, offer products for silent auction items, be a sponsor at our event or if you want to have an event and donate proceeds, there are many ways to help and be part of this mission to Give Where You Live. We gratefully promote our supporters and our partners are listed on our website and we do shout outs through our social media channels.
Join us for a day filled with inspiration and helping raise money to support our families. Buy tickets online, if you are interested in being a sponsor or want more information, call Jane or Stacey or send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Give Where You Live!!!
This is the motto for Women With Purpose. We are a non-profit organization in Pinellas county and we raise money to provide non-medical financial assistance to patients. We primarily support cancer patients and help others dealing with catastrophic medical related issues. 95% of proceeds go directly to support patients. Our organization is made up of volunteers who support this mission. Some are survivors and some have had family members who have faced cancer. It is the journeys that brought us all together to "Live With Purpose."
When we met with Hamburger Mary's we knew this would be a great time for our supporters to have fun while supporting our mission! So planning was underway and the team set-up the event page on Facebook and promoting began. We collected raffle prizes that would be given to the winners of each game. $10 donation and 10 games! We had a bling basket, a lotto tree, wine baskets and lots of other surprises! The 50/50 winner received over $400 along with Women With Purpose.
BINGO night came and we had a packed house! The staff at Hamburger Mary's did an amazing job! Stephanie had the crowd fully engaged and at times we couldn't stop laughing. Anyone that called Bingo had to run around and get heckled to get their prize. All in great fun! It was a perfect night!
Together we raised $2,000 dollars in a couple of hours! Everyone was a winner! We hope you will join us for the next BINGO, we will be doing this several times throughout the year! Hamburger Mary's is definitely a business in our community who believes in giving back! We think they are AWESOME!
Make sure to check out our upcoming events section too! We have our Annual Fashion Show & Luncheon in October. "Catwalk For A Cause" will feature models this year from other non-profit organizations who are making a difference in our community. We will share more ahead about these incredible organizations and their members. Join us the end of July with our partner Chico's and come Shop With A Purpose!
We welcome businesses to partner by being a sponsor or providing in-kind services. We gladly share and promote you throughout our social media channels. We share updates, stories and inspiration daily on our Facebook page and welcome you to "Like" us!

Two years later, I still consider Women With Purpose to be a Godsend, providing me with grocery gift cards every so often. I stay connected and have attended a few of their awesome community events raising awareness, empowerment and funds for women who struggle and survive through many diverse hardships.
Having worked for several non profits in my past, I can say that groups such as WWP are an invaluable resource to the community they serve. I personally could not have gone through the adjustment of our move from NY to Florida without them. They provide gatherings where women can share their stories and testimonies of strength that I wish I could attend more of.
I feel so grateful and blessed that God put them in my path, and pray they will continue to grow and bless so many others in need.
On October 1st Women With Purpose gathered with Elizabeth from Answered Prayers Project at Shari's new place. We spent time sprucing up her yard, awaited her arrival with the moving truck and knew this was a new beginning. Helping her find a more suitable place to live and getting her settled after a long journey with cancer.
A journey that has a little miracle involved. At one time Shari was a patient with Hospice, but her life has a different path planned. She is now cancer free. Taking steps to rebuild her life and finding joy along the way. She is looking to start a part-time job and has also become a consultant with Thirty-One Designs.
With the help of family and friends she got a car, she drove for the first time yesterday after 6 years so that smile of hers holds joy for so many reasons. She hugged us tight and said thank you again and again. You could feel the strength of her spirit and her appreciation of living life. It truly is a gift that everyday she celebrates.
As we help women in our community from the support of our local partners and members in Pinellas it is together we are able to share days like this. Give where you live is our motto. We all are creating a greater sense of connectedness in this area helping to strengthen women and their families.

"I was thoroughly surprised at age 46, only 4 short months after a Mammogram, finding a large lump in my Breast. I had Triple Negative Breast Cancer, a very aggressive form, which grew rapidly. Not only did I lose both breasts, but my job, my savings, my car, my mobility, as I had a severe neurological reaction to one of the chemotherapies. I am so grateful however, as I am here, a Hospice graduate, and now, after graduating from wheelchair to walker, then using the walker for several years, and eventually building up my strength, walking round trip a good three miles up and back to the grocery store...I am now walker free!!!! I am thrilled! I still have my port in my chest, and I am looking at getting that removed next year, God willing! I am at a place where I can take those baby steps, and start working part time! I am thrilled! And I am praying I will be able to drive to and from in a reliable vehicle. I can take myself to my doctor appointments, and not have to burden others. I also have daughters, and granddaughters I can visit locally. I have always maintained a sense of humor throughout this journey, and managed to be joyful regardless, however..the lack of independence has been one of the hardest hurdles. I want to be able to pay it forward, and have always been in a helping field, but intend to utilize all of the life lessons I have learned throughout this journey.
Things that make people happy......can you picture happy? What does it look like to you? Contentment is a component of happiness.....having a good spirit.....striving towards ...excellence based on one's talents. Are we purposeful? Are we striving for self development?
Let's design our lives to bring us Joy....try to find joy everyday in something. Even the most trivial task can be joyful. We may be in those corporate jobs, that in the beginning, seem to be fulfilling but then you find yourself feeling not only unfulfilled but that you have compromised your happiness.
Changes don't have to be big in order to find joy.....perhaps just finding an hour in the beginning, to do yoga, read, just listen to classical music.....can and should be helpful. Take action, begin with baby steps. Avoid the fantasy of "if only" .....we all think this at one time or another but that is not life. Happy people are in tune to this, they know their lives are full and giving.
It is not surprising that being social contributes to one's happiness. Close friends and family; just hanging out, enjoying wine and dinner together....close companionship.
Happy people tend to be more open to helping others. Allow happiness and gratitude into your every day life.
Share yours with us, what do you do that creates joy?
